I’m a proud Afghanistan combat veteran, having served as an Army medic during my 2016 deployment, where I gained firsthand insight into the importance of mental health care for veterans. A lifelong learner and creative soul, I play clarinet, drumset, and percussion, and I love to unwind through drawing and daily meditation. After earning my bachelor’s degree in psychology from UAB, I’m now pursuing my MSW to become a therapist focused on supporting veterans, with the goal of opening a wellness center dedicated to holistic healing. I’m also an avid traveler—I’ve visited 17 countries so far and plan to explore every country in the world before I die. When I’m not studying or creating, you’ll find me hiking, baking up a storm (I’m known for my exceptional treats), or diving into a good book. As a proud lesbian woman and passionate therapy advocate, I’m committed to fostering healing, connection, and resilience for those who’ve served.

Here’s a wild fun fact — I once held a beating human heart!

Backstory anyone? Well, I was in Afghanistan working in a Role 2 hospital. We had a patient come in with 6 gunshot wounds to the abdomen (He was a local, unarmed civilian caught in a crossfire and not a US soldier). He coded as the flight medics touched ground, so there was a medic on top of the stretcher providing CPR. He was actively bleeding, but we were doing what we could to save him. The surgeon decides to crack his chest to perform an exploratory surgery and find the bullet rounds. I was assisting the surgeon and as soon as we crack his chest, he passes away. I could feel his heart beating as it slowly fluttered to a stop.
